How to Make Pre-shave Oil July 07 2013
Implementing pre-shave oil into your shaving routine is an effective way to minimize razor burn and skin irritation associated with shaving. Pre-shave oil doesn't have to be expensive. Save face and money by making your own natural shaving oil with this simple recipe. This nourishing blend of oils works well on all skin types and is ideal for use on all areas, including face, legs, underarms, and bikini line. Use unscented or add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for a custom blend. This pre-shave oil blend is light and will not clog razors.
What you'll need:
- 1/2 ounce Grapeseed Oil
- 1/2 ounce Sweet Almond Oil
- 1/2 ounce Avocado Oil
- 1/4 ounce Argan Oil
- 5-10 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
- 2 oz amber glass dropper bottle
Add Grapeseed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Argan Oil, and essential oil (optional) to the two ounce bottle. Close bottle cap tightly. Gently roll the bottle between your palms for approximately five to ten seconds. Apply a dime-sized amount of pre-shave oil into hands and apply evenly over cleansed area to be shaved. Use straight or with a shave cream/gel. After shaving, rinse thoroughly with cool water and gently pat dry with a towel. Store the pre-shave oil blend in a cool area, out of direct sunlight.
